We check the sheriff's sale, succession and tax notices published for Caddo, Bossier, DeSoto and Webster parishes that our list holds, refreshed every morning. Not finding it does not mean there is no sale: always confirm with the sheriff's office.
What this check looks at
Every morning our list reads the legal notices published for the four parishes we buy in: sheriff's sales (the last step of a foreclosure), succession and estate sales, and, in Webster Parish, tax-sale and adjudicated-property notices. The notices come from the parish sheriffs and the newspapers' shared public-notice site, louisianapublicnotice.com. They are public records; anyone can read them.
The check matches on the house number and the street name. If your address is listed, you will see the kind of notice and the date in it.
If your house is on the list
You have options before the sale day, and every day counts:
- Call your lender and ask about catching up (reinstatement), a payment plan or a loan change.
- Talk to a free HUD-approved housing counselor. They help homeowners in foreclosure at no cost.
- Talk to a lawyer if you are thinking about bankruptcy or have questions about your rights.
- Sell the house before the sale. If you sell, the loan is paid off at closing from the sale money, through a title company, and you pick the closing date. That is what we do: we buy houses as they are.

Want a cash offer, or to have us take over the payments? Call or text Charlie at (318) 714-4321, or Get My Cash Offer. Cash is not promised on every house. No fee, no obligation.
If your house is not on the list
That is good news, but it is not a guarantee. A notice can be printed late, under a different address, or only with a legal description of the land. If you got a notice of seizure, a letter from a lawyer or a visit from a deputy, call the sheriff's office in your parish and ask for your sale date.
